A look back…
Another year flew by. Initially, Carlo was still recovering from his Achilles tendon, but his walking gradually improved, so he was able to cook for our guests again. Happy guests, so we’re happy!
We were once again able to welcome many guests – new faces and many who had stayed with us before and returned to enjoy our place once more. That feels like a great compliment and makes our work even more valuable. With every encounter, the wealth of memories grew: conversations at breakfast and dinner, stories shared, and moments of relaxation on the terrace or by the pool. It’s precisely those little things that together create a greater whole and make Casa Don Carlos a home for so many people. Finally, after two dry years, there was plenty of rain again this spring, filling the reservoirs sufficiently.
2006-2026 Anniversary Promotion
Last summer, we also made the final decision to stay open for another year. This means we will actually close in November 2026! The 2006-2026 Anniversary Promotion has been a success, with over 40 reservations and 350 overnight stays booked, including guests from the very first day! Just like last year, we set off in July and August with our campervan, this time starting in San Sebastian and then traveling along the coastline to the Picos de Europa, returning via Santiago de Compostela through Portugal. We did a lot of hiking, cycling, and relaxing.
Olive harvest
Thanks to the rain in the spring, we also had a beautiful olive harvest in November, allowing us to finally fill bottles with our own olive oil again.
Grateful
It’s now December, and we realize that from now on, everything will be the last time; one thing is certain, it’s going to be a special year. At the same time, we’re also looking ahead to November 2026. That may sound far off, but time flies. Until then, we want to fully enjoy all the encounters and the warmth our guests bring. We feel grateful and enriched: grateful for the trust, enriched by the memories we’ve built together.
