Carlo takes care of correspondence, administration, the website, and finances; he tells you all about the sights and the best routes and cooks a delicious meal 5 days a week. He draws inspiration from Andalusian cuisine and products but believes that vegetables are essential—the “trinity” on the plate, as he calls it. He doesn’t make paella, because you can eat the real thing at the Spaniards’ places in the village.
Ronald is responsible for housekeeping and ensures the rooms and the house look perfect. You will also often find him in the garden, as he has green fingers. Ronald loves to talk about the trees and plants in our garden and the environment we live in. While Carlo is in the kitchen preparing the meal, Ronald makes sure the outdoor kitchen, the terrace, and the table look cozy.

We try to provide you with as much information as possible about our Bed & Breakfast Casa don Carlos, our other locations and collaborations with other B&Bs in the tours as well as our scenic surroundings. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please feel free to let us know.
As hosts, we characterize ourselves by our homeliness and conviviality. As “Bourgondische Brabanders,” that is something you can certainly entrust to us, Carlo and Ronald. “Changing course” is an old concept for us, as more than 25 years ago we already said to each other: “one day…” In 2006, we took the plunge and decided we shouldn’t wait any longer until we were “older.” In Alhaurín el Grande (Malaga), we found a location that perfectly met our ideas for our Bed & Breakfast Casa Don Carlos.
We have had the pleasure of saying goodbye to many satisfied guests from various countries at Bed & Breakfast Casa Don Carlos, some for the second, third, and even tenth time. Between May 2006 and the present much has changed in and around our B&B. The difference will be especially large for our first guests from 2006 and 2007. There has been a total transformation around the front garden, the terrace, and the pool, and even in the rooms. It is hard to believe that everything grows so fast in Andalusia!

Every year we try to further perfect our surroundings and house, such as by building a Jeu de Boules court, renewing the garden around the pool, the lounge area in the outdoor kitchen, the luxury double room, renewing the bathrooms at the front of the house, and much more. Recently, in the spring of 2024, we also renovated the area around the swimming pool. Unfortunately, the grass has disappeared, but we now use much less water. We have also had solar panels since May 2023. With these investments, we try to contribute to a more sustainable environment.
After taking over GSheaven in 2009, we eventually sold the motorcycle rental company again in the spring of 2014 after more than 5 successful years. This does not mean we are stopping the unique combination of motorcycle rental and overnight stays in “Bed, Breakfast, Bike & Ride” packages; just take a look further on our website.
At the very end of 2019, we became the owners of a 6-person apartment in the heart of Málaga city; we rent out this apartment through an organization called REMS, which gives us the time to devote all our attention to our guests in the Bed & Breakfast.
We are very proud that in 2023 we received the international TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for the 7th time, after 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2022, plus the Zoover Gold Award in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021. We are very grateful to all the guests who took the time to write a review. Winning an Award or distinction confirms that we are succeeding in striving for the highest quality of service and hospitality in a relaxed, homely atmosphere, with the same passion as when we started in 2006.
